Exhibitions in  resin

Interest in epoxy resin as a medium for artistic expression came about in my second year at university. Fluid and malleable while wet, resin hardens into a transparent object of any size and shape given to it while drying. Its applications are diverse and plentiful, and I have used them to create sculptures and installations.

This exhibition was held in the gallery Chavez de la Rosa in Arequipa, southern Peru, where I lived and worked for almost four years. The installation comprises 30 metres of painted canvas depicting my physical and emotional gap year travels. It was to be the first of four exhibitions I showed at this venue.

Special thanks remains due to my dear friend and gallery curator Carlos Ticona, for going out of his way to mobilize national newspapers, radio stations and even national television to cover this exhibition.

472nd Anniversary
group exhibition

This triptych was commissioned for the yearly exhibition commemorating the anniversary of the city of Arequipa. It depicts the triad of volcanoes encircling the valley, Chachani (left), El Misti (centre) and Picchu Picchu (right).

Traditionally only local Peruvian artists participate, so it was an honour and a pleasure to be invited to contribute a piece of work to this and to two subsequent anniversary exhibitions.
